Housing Families

In 2017, First Presbyterian Church (FPC) and the Mission and Outreach Center are addressing solutions to homelessness and the affordable housing crisis in Fort Collins. The Housing Families initiative focuses on two main goals:

  1. Hosting Faith Family Hospitality (FFH) families three different weeks
  2. Co-sponsoring and building a Habitat for Humanity home for one family

We would love to have our whole congregation involved in various ways in this important mission initiative.

    Ongoing Opportunities for Involvement

    • Volunteer at FFH’s Day Center, 300 E. Oak, (970)484-3342

    • Volunteer at Fort Collins Habitat ReStore, 4001 S. Taft. Sign up.

    • Host your own fundraiser in the community. Contact Erika Nossokoff for creative ideas for fundraisers beyond FPC and about applying for Seed Money for these fundraisers.

    • Provide a storage unit, shed or building to store items donated to FFH guest families who transition into permanent housing.

    • Assist with transitional housing. The FFH transition house (formerly Crossroads Safehouse) is progressing with the property inspections and negotiations with the city.  Once that situation has been firmed up, FFH will need construction volunteers and donation of housing items like furniture, linens, kitchen items.

    • Donate gently used household items like beds, tables, chairs, linens, kitchen items, etc. that are generally needed for FFH families transitioning into other homes.

    • Donate to FFH or Fort Collins Habitat directly or via FPC. If donating directly to those non-profits, please indicate that your donation is related to FPC. If donating to FPC for these projects, please indicate whether your donation is for FFH, Habitat, or where the need is greatest.
