Crop Hunger Walk

In 1946, Church World Service (CWS) originated the idea of CROP Walks and organized such walks across the US. CWS is a cooperative ministry of 36 Christian denominations working together to eradicate hunger and poverty and promote peace and justice among the world’s most vulnerable peoples. The Crop Walk is held the first Sunday of October. Walkers raise pledges for their participation in the walk with 25% of all monies staying in Fort Collins and donated to the Food Bank for Larimer County. The rest is distributed by CWS for self-help initiatives around the world and here in the US, helping communities ravaged by floods, tornadoes, and hurricanes.
