In response to COVID-19 and out of concern for your health, all FPC experiences are online at this time. Until further notice, the church building is closed. Although we are not together in person, we will gather virtually to worship, care for and encourage one another, and to grow in faith together.
Worship each Sunday at 9:00 a.m. or anytime “on-demand” on our live streaming page.
Worship is the center, the heart of our church community. Each Sunday morning, we gather for worship in our beautiful sanctuary at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. We gather to praise God together, to hear God's word proclaimed, and then to be sent out into the world again to be the hands and feet of Christ.
Both of our Sunday morning worship services are vibrant and joyful! Our services are liturgical, meaning that they follow a set pattern or order of worship. We believe that creating this structure helps us see worship as time set apart from our normal patterns of life, allows a space for us to experience the powerful Spirit moving in our midst, and a way to honor and praise God. In each service there will be time for prayer, singing, scripture, listening to a thought-provoking sermon, and reflection.
The 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. services are similar, with a few distinctions. Both services include the same liturgy and sermon. The 9:00 a.m. service has a full choir, hymns accompanied by pipe organ, and is more traditional in feel. The 11:00 a.m. service has a more intimate feel and includes a wider variety of music led by a piano with several song leaders. We celebrate communion every week at the 11:00 a.m. service, inviting the congregation to come forward to partake. Communion is generally celebrated on the first Sunday of the month at the 9:00 a.m. service.
Music is an important part of who we are and what we do at First Presbyterian
We feature sacred music of many kinds in worship each week: our beautiful pipe organ, our chancel choir, adult and youth handbells, soloists, and other instrumentalists. Visit the Music Ministry page for more information.
Children are always welcome in worship
We have pew bags with activities for children in the back of the sanctuary so little hands can have some activities. We also offer nursery care for our youngest kids and Sunday school classes for school-aged children.
When you visit, if you have any questions or need help with anything, an usher or greeter can help!
